Title: Why wouldn't a hospital report include the strain of bacteria?

JW asked the Naked Scientists:
   
My wife died in Hospital of what was termed :- an unusually virulent strain of the c/diff bacterium, but the S.U.I. report did not key-in the type of strain e.g. 027 etc., would their be a legitimate reason for not entering the strain type?
What do you think?
