Title: Does THC-mediated neurogenesis increase serotonin levels?
Post by: smart on 20/03/2017 14:16:39
THC-mediated neurogenesis may play an essential role in adult hippocampal neurogenesis through the stimulation of 5-HT receptors.

However, the exact mecanism of serotonin regulation via THC-mediated neurogenesis is a little obscure.

My hypothesis is that increased serotonin bioavailability may reduce stress-dependent neuroendocrine hormones responses.

Lastly, the apparent nootropic and antidepressant effects of THC-mediated neurogenesis may be correlated with a net decrease in stress-related hormonal activation and increased serotonergic function.

Cannabinoids appear to promote the survival of hippocampal neurones produced through on-going neurogenesis.
