Title: Do meridians - energy pathways - exist in the body?
Post by: katieHaylor on 22/06/2017 10:31:09
Heather says:

Has science been able to prove the existence of meridians - "energy pathways" - in the body?
If so, are we able to manipulate them by concentrating on chakras or mudras?  Is this a question of science or faith?

What do you think?

If you consider love and empathy a form of ultra-weak bioelectromagnetic energies, then the limbic system must be implicated in the neurobiological pathways of so-called "meridians". In specific, love and empathy are emotional energies.

meridians (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fc/Chinese_meridians.JPG) are an ancient attempt to map human the nervous system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nervous_system#/media/File:TE-Nervous_system_diagram.svg).
like very old maps of the world (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunt%E2%80%93Lenox_Globe#/media/File:Lennox_Globe,_by_B.F._Da_Costa.png), they are incomplete and partially incorrect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_map#/media/File:Mercator_projection_SW.jpg).

This is true. However, the way the ancients did this was based on observing sensory feedback loops within the body. The brain and nervous system can induce affects in the body, which can be felt via sensory feedback loops.

For example, when you are in love you can sometimes feel your heart flutter. This flutter is sensory feedback. It begins in the brain, which sends a nervous signal to the heart, that triggers a specific range of sensory nerves. This sensory feedback goes back to the brain, for a unique conscious feedback experience. When we have a gut feeling about something, this is also sensory feedback, from the brain and inner self, to the gut, and then back to the brain for the conscious mind to sense.

Over time, the ancients started to notice there was a consistency of feedback stemming from certain zones and certain triggers. This became a fundamental system; energy language. This was combined with physiology and extrapolated into a more complex diagram. The true value is learning to communicate with the unconscious mind by understanding its feedback, based on which circuits are energized and the type of feedback. If you feel the flutter in the heart, that means the inner self is telling you this is love.

When I was younger, jus tout of college, I became interested in Kundalini Yoga, which deals with the seven psychic centers; seven main feedback centers. Putting aside ESP and that type of thing, I found it was possible to resonate these centers. That was the goal.

The brain sends nervous energy to trigger a center, which is felt via sensory feedback. The feedback returns to the brain to become conscious, but also to trigger the brain, to send even more signal, until you feel an amplified resonance start for form; induces personality firmware. This weird and was scary, so I stopped doing it because I needed a logical explanation for this strange data.
