Title: falling out of bed
Post by: paul.fr on 04/04/2007 10:00:18
babies and small children have a bed guard to stop then rolling over and falling out of bed, older children have them on bunk beds. So what stops teenagers and adults falling out of bed? not just beds, i have been known to have a nap on my desk at work and never fallen off, but why?

I think as we get older we develop the ability to spatially recognize where we are when we are sleeping. I know that if I roll over too many times I will wake myself up usually as I'm lying right on the edge of the bed.

Then as you get even older you start rolling out. I have. Where are my teeth? did I leave them at the table at the restaurant? Did I throw it out with the dinner scraps? Dang nabit.
