Some years ago I contributed to a kickstarter project - Lunar Mission One - for my grandson, thinking the date for their rocket to go to the moon to explore and bring back samples would be just about when he was at an age when this would be very interesting. SInce then, after the first one or two newsletter i have heard nothing in terms of how things are progressing. There are some vague notes on their site (yes they do have one) but nothing definite about how the rocket etc is progressing or how the plan is evolving. many famous people endorsed this project at the time (online anyway) but it seems to have faded away and i don't get replies when I send 'contact us' e mails.
Has anyone else had contact with them or know anything about what's going on? is this a scam?

I heard someone saying similar things about a different kickstarter project that they had backed a few years ago and from which the promised goods and returns / freebies had failed to materialise.
Have your investigations thrown up anything yet?

It’s like investing in any startup company, you expect a high failure rate.

I look at their site from time to time and they have postponed the proposed landing till 2024, several years later than initially. There isn't much definite progress noted on the site- i was just wondering why they didn't reply to my 'contact us' e mail. Seems as if the site is sort of dormant except that they sell things. They have a phone number but it's in the UK so timing is difficult as well as expense from here. If anyone in the UK likes to call them you can find the phone number here. originally it sounded exciting because of all the famous people apparently involved - S Hawkings, Martin Rees etc. Also they raised a million plus pounds in a few days on the kickstarter.

I'd not come across this project before; have you look more widely, including at other fora, to see if others are getting any answers?

I have looked at the forum on their site. Most of the posts are very old. Any recent ones don't seem to have much to do with the 'mission' but more with personal offers of lectures, bank advice, problems with NASA today - unconnected with LM1. The person listed as the latest subscriber to the forum is Neil Armstrong - D. 2012?
