Time for a joke.
Actually a very short tale about experience in the medical profession.
You cannot find everything in textbooks, personal experience helps.
CASE 1
An anxious mother of a 4yr old boy phones
his young, recently specialized pediatrician:
"I'm worried for my son, doctor. He seems all
right but his pee is actually bright green!"
The young doctor reassures the lady, saying
that a urine analysis could be indicated if
this little problem persists in the next few
days. Then he starts searching any possible
cause in handbooks and pathology texts getting
more and more confused between all the various
pigments and green substances...
CASE2
Same question to an old white-haired pediatrician.
He smiles on the phone, going on writing a recipe
for the little patient he just examined:
"There is no reason to worry, madam, your
kid had probably ... " [???]
Possible answers are welcome! [;D]

Oh bum.. That's hard!
OK. Case 2.
"There is no reason to worry, madam, probably your kid had just drunk some lime juice."
-
OR.. Case 2.
"There is no reason to worry, madam, probably your kid had just eaten some asparagus"

No good. Neither lime juice or asparagus should be enough to turn your pee reeaaally green.

a sedative overdose?

Why a sedative overdose?
A sedated child should start peeing green?
The answer might come from another topic in Med.
It is very important to know the basics of these simple things:
it is easy anatomy and shouldn't be restricted to nurses and docs.
You may simply save a life knowing how it works and what should be done.
Little kids swallow grapes or round objects frequently,
even little toys, and may choke to death in minutes.
You will have to ACT, quick.
Somebody else will call 911.
Little Big Seany IS fast.
...remember he was a 4 year old child.
ikomon' is not so difficult!

Why a sedative overdose?
A sedated child should start peeing green?
Dr Carole Foot, an intensive care specialist at Queensland's Prince Charles Hospital. Foot says urine can provide information about whether patients are taking certain medications or are being over-administered.
For example, propofol, a common sedative in critical care wards, turns urine pink if given in the right dose but green if patients are getting too much.

Ops! I didn't know this. Me too ignorant indeed!
No drugs in my story anyway, far more common...objects.
BTW, little boy was fine at home, not in a critical care ward! [;)]

Good show Karen!
It happened even with the common ballpens;
they contain concentrated blue ink as well.
When they start drawing, kids love doing the
strangest things with pencils and felt-tips.
While they 'think' how to create artistic stuff,
some keep their tools in the mouth for hours...
Blue nontoxic ink gets swallowed, absorbed,
filtered and eliminated by the kidneys.
