Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, can affect specific parts of the body or your body as a whole. While the exact cause is often unknown, it can be related to a hyperactive sympathetic nervous system, anxiety, hormone imbalances, and a range of other medical conditions.

Relief from hyperhidrosis can sometimes come with special creams (e.g. formaldehyde) as well as topical and prescription medications. Botox has also been found to help improve symptoms and often over a longer period of time. There are also surgical ways to destroy the sweat glands or parts of the nervous system to reduce sympathetic nervous activity.
