What is railradar in this map how it is working and showing?

It appears to be a website which tracks the location of all public trains in India.
It helps you see if your train is on-time or late (and it appears that about 2/3 of them are late)...
It uses GPS to locate the trains; the use of the word "radar" is just figurative.
Radar does not work very well tracking objects that are at ground level and travelling between mountains.

India is very large, and few trains move very fast.
You have to press the "+" button many times and use the cursor controls to zoom in on an individual train, and then wait an hour or a day to see it move.

This information box shows the location of an individual train on a map, relative to nearby towns, roads, rivers, parks, etc.
- It looks like the information on this map is "crowdsourced" (provided by members of the public, in this case a person whose email address is partly obscured as ju*****u@gmail.com)
- The reported position is a bit out of date - 24 minutes ago.
- Because this depends on members of the public to update the information, the information is not updated regularly - this may be why the trains did not appear to be moving.
- 12392 is the number of the train, followed by the start and end cities, and the date it left the start city
- The latitude and longitude give the location on the Earth's surface, provided by the GPS satellites.

If you zoom in and click on other trains, you can see their last reported position too.

Most modern long-distance trains use diesel fuel for their main energy source.
- For some of them, the diesel engine drives the wheels directly
- Some of them use the diesel engine to drive a generator, which drives electric motors on the wheels.
In those areas where electric wires have been installed over the railway tracks, the trains can just use electricity to drive their electric motors. But this is only really economic in areas with a high population density.
In all cases, a small battery is charged to provide power for lights, communication, and to start up the train if it has been idle for a while.

This website is for public transport in the city of Melbourne.
This is not a map of the entire network, but it is more useful to someone wanting to travel...
- You enter a train station, and it tells you the next 5 services departing from that location.
- If you have the app on your phone, it automatically knows your location (via GPS), so you don't need to specify your location

What is railradar in this map how it is working and showing?
The map has two representations:
- Map View: A symbolic representation of the country, highlighting towns, roads, rivers and other landmarks. Town names are written in English (for English viewers) and the local language (sometimes more than one local language)
- Satellite View: A representation of the way the same area looks to the human visual system, in Red, Green & Blue channels). Overlaid on this is some of the same symbolic information as the map, including town names.
- You can easily switch between the Map and Satellite view

The difficulty is that different regions (countries, states, cities) are controlled by different organisations, and also different modes of transport (long-distance trains, local trains, subway trains, buses, trams, taxis, uber) are controlled by different organisations. These organisations do not share information with each other.
There is another problem, one of scale. RailRadar seems to be focusing on long-distance trains in India. However, in the city of Tokyo, subway trains arrive about every 2 minutes during peak hour. There are possibly as many subway trains within the city of Tokyo as there are long-distance trains in the nation of India. One map cannot hope to provide a realistic representation of both levels of detail.
However, external organisations like Google have an interest in collecting data from all these organisations, and making it available to the public.
So you may be more successful using Google Maps (https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/India/@19.5417107,73.5925593,5z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x30635ff06b92b791:0xd78c4fa1854213a6!8m2!3d20.593684!4d78.96288?hl=en-AU), and specifying the journey that you want. Click on the "Directions" button.
Warning: Sometimes Google Directions displays a sense of humour: Once it told me to paddle a canoe from Japan to Hawaii!

The transport operator in each city clearly knows the location of every train, bus and tram in the city, updated every minute.
There are just so many tracked trains, buses & trams tha in a small geographical area that the map would be almost unreadable (especially on a small screen like a smartphone). So they don't try to show them all on a single map. So they extract from the database just the ones that are relevant to the journey you wish to make.

There is a generator attached to the diesel engine.
There is a big battery at bottom of each cabin.
Don't confuse physical size with energy content.
Energy density is measured in MegaJoules per Liter of volume (MJ/l).
- The common Lead-Acid battery has an energy density of 0.56 MJ/l
- Diesel fuel has an energy density of 36 MJ/l (assuming that oxygen in the air is "free")
- So diesel fuel has 64 times the energy density of lead-acid batteries

I suspect that a large battery is necessary to restart a diesel motor once it has stopped.
- I understand that many diesel engines use a tank of compressed air to provide the energy needed to start the motor
- If the air tank is empty, a large battery may be needed to compress the air, before starting the motor?
