I'm hoping its a good question....I mean, does one need to "believe" it is possible, or do they "know" its possible?
There "are" some things we as humans cannot do in this solar system, the first being travelling to the Plank scale as a sentient being, despite how much we profess to know about it.
Am I wrong?
Most astrophysicists know that a key quality to the "quality" of astrophysical theory is using the small scale with the large scale.Yet, "yet", is it possible to travel to phenomena representative of plank phenomena in the stars? "Or", is theoretical analysis of the stars limited to what can only be "light" related, and thus "atomic" based?
These questions may sound a little out of the ordinary, but the consistency of not just reason yet clear awareness and ability to be aware need to factor into the possibility, that "belief", if it is possible, in travelling to stars beyond this solar system, is either "belief" or a scientific fact.....

I'm not sure what you mean. What are these "Planck phenomena" you mention?

Exactly! My point is, how closely is physics trying to take the small scale physics to the large scale?
