Stimulants improve concentration.
Practicing certain techniques can increase the total sum of data we can retain. Working memory is limited to about 7 items in most people, like a 7 digit phone number, unless the numbers combined represent something else like 1776.

I'm new and don't know how to start a new topic, but I want to offer the following. Let me know where and how to place it if you don't mind.
Whenever I've mentioned this to others, I get less than an enthusiastic reaction. Nevertheless, I believe in the near future we will create a Frankenstein like creature. To preserve and sustain a working human brain using strictly artificial means, cannot be far off.

If you feel that your ability to concentrate is compromised to the point where it interferes substantially in major areas of your life, see a medical specialist. It is well established that most children with severe attentional challenges do not out grow them, as once believed.

What can one do to improve memory and concentration?
Get regular exercise (if that's permitted in your part of the world, at the moment...)
Healthy body means healthy brain!
