Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection spread through inhaling tiny droplets from the coughs or sneezes of an infected person.
It mainly affects the lungs, but it can affect any part of the body, including the tummy (abdomen), glands, bones and nervous system.
??????????????????????
The B strain? ???

...spread through inhaling tiny droplets from the coughs or sneezes of an infected person
This says that one potential route for infection is via aerosols (tiny droplets carrying the pathogen).
Both TB and corona virus spread through aerosols, as does influenza, the common cold and measles (plus many others).
This does not mean that corona virus is TB 2.0.
It appears that corona virus can also infect the gut, and be spread through poo, which is not a major route of infection for TB.

One is caused by a virus, the other is caused by a bacterium.

It does mention that TB can affect the gut , perhaps in a TB 2.0 version , it also spreads via the gut !
I personally note similarities , if something sounds similar with an illness then that is normally where I start to diagnose the problem .
Does anyone know what sort of treatments are being given to sufferers of the covid 19 ?
-
Do you understand that saying "covid is like TB" is analogous to saying that a "fish is like grass"?
Well, yes, they are sort of similar.
But they are so clearly not the same thing that it's pointless to discuss it further.

Similarities should never be overlooked . Perhaps one of you kind chaps from Cambridge could share a sample of the covid 19 DNA code and additionally a sample of TB DNA code for comparisons .
A broken arm is similar to a broken foot and I have viewed a ''cat'' on the news .

A virus is not alive. TB is alive.
How big a difference do you need?

A virus needs a host , a bacteria can survive without a host ?
Can we turn alcohol into a gas?
-
a bacteria can survive without a host ?
Yes.
Not just survive, but multiply.
eg

Can we turn alcohol into a gas?
Yes, simply by heating it, or just letting it evaporate.
Why do you ask?
Have you finally come to accept that covid and TB are not the same thing?

I ask because I read that alcohol kills the covid virus ?
I agree they are not the same thing but there are comparisons with the affects of the illness .
Would a TB treatment have any affect on the covid ?
As for alcohol I was thinking of alcohol gas filled saunas , getting alcohol into the lungs to kill the virus ?

If only there was some source of information about this
Oh!
There is

Would a TB treatment have any affect on the covid ?
Conceivably.
There's a TB treatment that,as a side effect, bump starts the immune system
It was one of the earliest treatments for cancer (it's not great, but it's better than nothing, and it's still in use).
https://www.clinicaltrialsarena.com/news/australia-bcg-vaccine-trial-covid-19/
But in some parts of the world, the BCG is used as a vaccine against leprosy rather than TB (the bacteria causing the diseases are very similar).
So the possibility of treating covid infections by using BCG is nothing to do with teh coincidental similarity between covid and TB.

I didn't see that post sorry!
It says alcohol does kill the covid , perhaps a sauna would work as the alcohol would be diluted with water to create a breathable alcohol vape !
?????????????Maybe
A weak solution that the human body may be able to handle ?

What it says is
if you got an alcohol concentration in the tissues of the lungs that was remotely near that needed to "kill" the virus, it would kill the lungs.

What if we lessened the concentration and gave the treatment over a period of time , having several periods in the sauna as opposed a huge dose in one session ?
Wouldn't a sauna additionally help with the dry cough putting fluids back in the lung tissue ?
-

Maybe, but unless you have a sauna each, it's going to be a great way to spread the virus, an any other pathogens someone happens to have.

I'm a big fan of alcohol but really, it's not going to help here.

I don't understand how it couldn't help , please explain ?
If alcohol kills covid then I can't see how it wouldn't help to get a diluted dose of alcohol into the lungs and perhaps even the blood stream .
An alcohol gas filled sauna would most certaintly be sterile !
-
it wouldn't help to get a diluted dose of alcohol
Simplistically, it works because alcohol dissolves the fatty layer round the virus which holds it together.
To do that you need a high concentration of alcohol.
And, at that concentration it destroys human cells (by the same mechanism).

After the explosion, yes it would.

Maybe an alcohol sauna would be good for reducing tar in smokers lungs then and reversing the effects ?
You say fatty layer around the virus , this may sound absurd but what about washing up liquid ? Can that become a gas? What affect would that have on the lungs ?
-
What affect would that have on the lungs ?
|Probably the death of the patient.
Lungs are very fragile and most detergents are quite aggressive.

Ok thank you for that information !
I've just read that the UK have banned alcohol sales as alcohol lowers the immune system ?
This a major error in judgement if this is true as alcoholics can have fits and seizures that can result in death from an instant withdraw . The government will cause more NHS strain as potential suicides and deaths will be a consequence of this stupid move . Have they not thought about the consequences of this action ?
There will be more deaths by this action than covid 19 !

Thank you for the link .
The link I read was a facebook link and had what looked like an official gov.uk logo . It said as from the 29th March , shops could not sell alcohol .
