Title: Can you get magenta-coloured offspring from yellow-parent flowers?

So I planted couple of Hendirikka/Mirabilis jalapa/Four O'clock Flower plant seeds from a plant at office with yellow colour flowers. Turns out, the new plants (2 of them) have magenta colour flowers. Is that really possible? I'm intrigued to know the possible genotype of the parent plants.
