Title: Why are some items not dried when you take them out the dishwasher?
Post by: katieHaylor on 24/04/2020 09:41:57
Ben asks:

Why is it that porcelain and glass get dry in the dishwasher, while plastic food containers don't, in the same run?

What do you think?

Thermal-conductivity of porcelain is (~4x) higher than plastics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_thermal_conductivities).
The porcelain will become hotter than the plastic from same the hot-water shower.
There will be more evaporation from hotter objects, (at the end of the wash cycle).

It very well may be baffling to open your dishwasher after the wash cycle is finished and discover things that are as yet soggy.

I got the feeling that it also depends on how much rains aid is in the dishwasher, at least I felt it that way that it does not dry good when there is less left.
I do open it as soon as it is finished.
