Title: What is the best astronomy software for viewing the night sky?
Post by: visualperception on 06/06/2020 16:59:47
Hi,
Could someone please recommend some astronomy software for a begginer wanting to find his way around the night sky.
I'm also interested in being able to view constellations and galaxies.
An astronomy software repository would be good too.

Many thanks

RobC

If you have a smart phone, there is an app called sky map.  It uses the phone's GPS and gyroscope to show you a map of that part of the sky you are pointing the phone at.  It also will track planets.

I use a smartphone app called GoSkyWatch.

Just look up the astronomy section in your smartphone/tablet App store...
