Any of you have relatives that have talked to you about what life was like during the Battle of Britain?

Not much about the Battle of Britain but a bit about the Blitz on London, where my mother was coordinating fire and rescue services in the East End until her house was destroyed.
Two tales of the Cockney spirit stick in my mind. One night the Britannia pub was bombed. One of her colleagues said "'Itler ain't arf goin' to cop it now they've hit the Brit." And the man rescued from the wreckage of his toilet "I pulled the chain and the bleedin' house fell down."
In other respects it was fire and ambulance services, a bit busier than usual.

Harsh, the germans bombed my aunts hair straight.
