I was asked this question by a kid the other day. I could not provide him with a precise, quality answer. I think it has something to do with peer pressure. When someone stinks, child or adult, soiled underwear is usually the culprit. And the smell of a child is a reflection of their mother's parenting skills. I don't know.

Thell the child its so if they get run over she hasn't got to deal with the shame too.
