I was looking through an atlas that shows boundaries for different slang words & I was amazed how many terms there are for "left-handed". Where I come from it was called "cack-handed".
What is your local variant? Say where you're from so we can compare.

Here we just call it left-handed.

How about "sinister" as opposed to "dextrous"? That's probably more a comment on the remakable prejudices shown in the past.

From Latin "sinistralis" and "dexter" - sinistral and dextral. Had to learn this so I could recall it in my sleep to oass a paleontology exam. Gastropod shells that turn to the left - counter- or anti-clockwise, are sinistral and dextral are the obverse.
Of course I would never use the term as a derogatory remark now, but I got a lot of mileage out of it when a teen because my sister is left-handed. [;)]
