Title: How to become a scientist?
Post by: Aeddan on 12/08/2020 16:44:18: Weather it's reading articles,watching debates (online) or listening to podcasts I LOVE science!
Hours each week spent learning everything I can about all kind of topics & now I am wondering what's the next step?

Which field of science to peruse ? Nothing is more interesting than space ... also nothing makes me feel dumb as quickly than space science.
With climate change being so important ( for me it makes everything els seem irrelevant ) where could I have an impact?
Is the path to becoming a scientist the same for biologists as it is for a meteorologist or geographer?
Also can anybody tell me why one question always multiplies by a factor of a metric f*** tone ?

Essentially, yes.
You will need to study the basic subjects, at secondary school level, that are part of your chosen area, eg maths & physics for physics. Then you will need to study your chosen area in depth eg at degree level.
First you need to choose your specialism ;)

There are some people who practice science, and are therefore scientists, but do not discover new things.

Post by: mikahawkins on 11/10/2020 07:32:08: I am currently studying Chemical engineering and plan to do an MS abroad followed by a PhD. The academic requirements for becoming a scientist is to study science and have a strong foundation when you are in school, the take either engineering or honors in a science subject and then start with research. But more importantly be in love with it.
