Title: Why did my wine glass suddenly break without anyone touching it?

Alan got in touch with a weird phenomenon:

A wine glass on the dining table, untouched for 12 hours, just went click and top rim broke off in perfect circle without anyone touching it.

Can anyone explain?

The stress forces overcame the material strength, due to various factors, heat sound. Likely crack propagation for a while, such as a chip on the surface running
