Title: is there enough space debris to cause problems for satellites or rockets?

There must be the odd, stray nut and bolt whizzing around. What are the chances that they will hit the ISS or shuttle?

In the past, space debris has not been considered to be a great risk to the shuttle. However, NASA scientists are changing their opinion.
