Title: Can treatment for hypothyroidism affect libido?
Post by: CRz996 on 24/05/2021 21:11:41
Dear all,

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 10 weeks ago. Right now, I am 50mg levothyroxine tablets. Upon elevating my dose to the current one I had serious chest discomfort, tiredness, allergy to loud sound among other symptoms. Luckily, I have started to feel better in the last few days. Today, however, and upon waking up, I had a high sex drive (I am single). My exaggerated contact with the bed resulted in an ejaculation. A few minutes after it (maybe 10-15), I experienced a mild discomfort in my chest (right side mainly) and feeling of a heavy-head and an inability to sleep. This is not the first time this  happens; about 5 weeks ago, I did the same upon feeling better and that caused me almost the same symptoms, only worse. In fact, 10 weeks ago, I had the feeling that my hypothyroidism was triggered by masturbation. I had done it, taken a shower and lied on my bed. One hour later I found myself barely breathing and uttering words unintelligibly. One day later I found out about my condition, but I associated it with personal problems in my studies (as I was very angry I got ill treated for sth).

My question is: Will my sexual condition improve with time? I am suffering from a POIS? If so, shall I see a doctor or will my hypothyroid treatment do the job over time?

Perhaps a visit to a Sexologist seems like the Best policy.
