I find it sad that over half a century since the dangers of tobacco use were recognized and publicized, we still have millions of smokers. Long after most smokers from the 1960's have kicked the bucket.
But, I would say the "Epidemic" is in Marijuana use. It is hard to say what the impact will be of greater legalization.

Hence, i kept seeking Actual facts & figures from various Sources.
But Every Single Time i come across a Dilemma of sorts...
Figures show Corona Deaths at around Three & Half Million Worldwide since the Pandemic began.
& Tobacco Related Deaths show around Five Million Annually Worldwide.

But How?
How can this be True?
Maybe I'm just Misleading my ownself here.
The Point is...
If an Equal Amount or Much Larger Numbers of Deaths do occur from Tobacco in comparison with Covid19, then WHY is there so much of a Fuss about Corona being an Epidemic?

& More Importantly, WHY The Heck does No One seem to be Concerned about the ongoing evergoing Silent Tobacco Epidemic???
P.S. - I consider Medical Marijuana as a Good Thing.

There are a couple of reasons.
One reason is it appears that covid deaths are under counted and tobacco deaths are over counted. Many countries do not report all of the covid deaths. If you smoked in your life and you die of cancer I believe that your death will be counted as tobacco related. A dear friend died of breast cancer in her early 50's and when she was a teenager she smoked for several years. On her death certificate it stated something to the effect that her death was smoking related. There was no evidence of that, other than she smoked at a point in her life and died of cancer.
Another point is that if the precautions were not taken for covid (economic shutdown, masks, social distancing) the death rate would have certainly been much higher than 5 million. If precautions were not taken then the hospitals would have never been able to keep up with the serious ill people and so the death rate would have been higher than the ~1% often quoted.

The 5 Millions Deaths Annually was from a Govt Source which might Not be Credible, hence no point in naming it.

Say the 3.5 Million Deaths due to Covid19 are Doubled...that gives 7 Million Deaths.
But that's Data for 2 years.
So per year...3.5 Million Deaths Annually due to Covid19.
(Doubling for unreported cases)

Now, consider 8 Million Deaths Annually due to Tobacco.
Let's cut half off...4 Million Deaths Annually.
(Cut off due to over reporting)

Still...Tobacco seems to Beat Covid19.
How's that Possible?
& Again, Why is No One talking about This?

& How would/should a person with a rational logical brain respond to this following sentence...?
" Tobacco kills up to half of its users. "
I'm Not Defending Covid19 nor am I Attacking Tobacco.

Perhaps I'm Just making too much outta nothing really.
Perhaps the Reality is that Humans die...natural disasters, accidents, wars, diseases or ageing.

A very serious point. Certainly within my cohort, at least 70% of us smoked to some degree as teenagers and students, and 25% of us will die from cancer because that is what happens. So the vast majority of cancer deaths occur among smokers and ex-smokers. Shock, horror. It is also true to say that the majority of cancer patients are or have been married at least once, and have driven a car at some time in their lives. There is however a proven causative relationship between smoking and cardiovascular disease and lung cancer
However the fact is that smoking is a self-inflicted pleasurable risk like skiing or skydiving, but nobody gets any pleasure from COVID, and only idiots seek to get infected.
