What are the effects of force?

Typically it would be a change in velocity.

Splitting or fusing of atoms?

Hi.

You've had some good short answers so far.
What were you looking for?
Force doesn't always cause any effect, if you want another answer.  Sometimes we need a concert of things to create any discernible change.
For example, a change in an objects momentum requires a force to have been applied for a finite chunk of time.  Applying a force for 0 time has no effect.

Force can also help to transfer energy but then the force must be applied so as it moves through a distance.  Applying a force that does not move through any distance in the direction of that force, does not transfer any energy.

Got a follow up question if anybody's interested...

What if i push a Mountain!
Say I'm really stressing & sweating doin it...for like 2mins.
(Immense sporadic pushing)
😥
The Mountain obviously won't budge...
🏔️
So, what happens to All that Force/Energy i spent for 2mins?

Obviously wasted i suppose, but wasted where?
🤔
In heat?
My body temp would rise?
Or no Displacement would mean no Force applied?

P.S. - @William Hardy
Wish You could have Specified the Type of Force.
🤷
(& You never Respond, Why so Rude?)
☹️

(umm...MODS, may i know if there is a limit to punch in wrong passwords for my account?Like say, if i type the wrong password more than Thrice, would my account be Locked automatically?)

Hi Zer0,

No work was done on the mountain, since there was no displacement as you said.  You were certainly applying force to the mountain but there was no displacement.  Keeping the analysis simple, no energy was transferred to the mountain.

Your body temperature raised because of chemical reactions inside your body.  Chemical reactions were needed inside your body just to generate a force that you could apply to the mountain.  This was using up chemical energy inside your body and your body would have been quite happy if the mountain had taken some of that.  However, the mountain didn't and all the energy was wasted (converted to heat).

What if i push a Mountain!
Why, it won’t go anywhere

The Mountain obviously won't budge...
There, you knew that. Total waste of time.

Obviously wasted i suppose, ?
There, you knew that as well. Don’t do it, you’ll just get hot & bothered.

My body temp would rise?
See, you knew that all along.

umm...MODS, may i know if there is a limit to punch in wrong passwords for my account?Like say, if i type the wrong password more than Thrice, would my account be Locked automatically?
Ah, something you don’t know.
Well, we aren’t here to spoon feed you you know.
This is a science site. Experiment! 🧪🥽🤯

Fantastic E.S.!!!
Very Nicely Explained.
Just exactly how i wished...short & brief & simplistic.
👍
(K.I.S.S. Format - Keep It Simple Silly)

Lol Colin...waay too goooe!
🤭

I was gonna start off with the
 ' Pushing a Car ' analogy, but didn't...
(Thought Halc might come on in here n say, " HeeY! Why U pushin on it, get inside n just drive! ")
🤭

Hence, I mentioned the Mountain.
🏔️

But..umm..mmm.
😒
You still managed to pull on me tail.
☹️
Geez...pfft!
😑

But I'm Very Much Happy that i didn't have to go gooling for the result, infact my gut instinct was Correct.
😇
(Time spent on in here, is turning out to be time well spent)

P.S. - Self Experiment on the PSWD query eh!
🤔
No Thanks!
🤭
That sounds Suicidal.
(Surely I'll think of a much smarter way to figure it out)
👍
Imma gonna swallow the red pill now...& recite ' There is noo spoon! '

Hello lil kidd!

Imagine if Someone Else could simply use your NickName & then punch in crappy passwords more than Thrice...
Then won't Your Account be Locked?

Then does it seem like a favourable method to have an auto lockout protocol embedded into the System?
No, Right!

& If you ever forget your password, simply click on the
'
Forgot my Password
' option...& An Email Link shall be provided to you for
' Resetting ' it.

Isn't it also a bit smart to Not send your old password thru the email link?
That way no Imposter could bully you sayin They know your password & can email it to you just to prove it that they know it.
Right again!

Ok now, be good & behave,
Bye byez!
