or they are just thick,
I think so I can't understand how anyone can come to the conclusion that the earth is flat. They bother me just like the people that don't believe we went to the moon. It gives us something to laugh at.
-
I used to dismiss them, as just S stirrers
I still do. Like many of the posters in this forum, I have a hard time buying that they actually believe what they assert. They're just in it to troll the rest of us.
There are probably people that actually believe the moon landing was faked, but it's really hard to actually bend your beliefs into the flat Earth thing.

I think the best way to prove to a flater that the earth is as we know it is just to look at any of the lunar eclipses they all reveal a globe shadow from all angles at all times. The problem is you can never convince a fool.

Does anyone know a flat earther who would like a flight to the edge? Happy to share costs. Eastward from the UK is preferable for me - saves renting a life raft.

Give them a shovel and they can discover the other side.

There are guards there that would shoot anyone who approaches the edge. So I've heard...

Not a problem. There is a standard intercept procedure set down by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. If intercepted, I'll happily agree that we are close to the edge, and we'll be able to see the wall that keeps the water in.

Yes, most of them are for real. They just don't know any science. It's all magic to them. It's like dyscalculia- the inability to do maths, but physical. They don't get anything, so for them the idea that the Earth is flat make more sense.
They're often but by no means always, homeschooled by very religious parents, reading textbooks written by people who believe that the Old Testament is literally true. The Old Testament was written by people who hadn't heard the research the Greeks had done to measure the diameter of the Earth. So they believe in Noah's ark, the whole Enchilada.
There are plenty of other routes to flat Earthism but that's a royal road there.
One of the key attributes of religions is that they're based on the supernatural. That means that 'minor' things like completely violating all physical laws, gravity, momentum etc. etc. is a non issue.

If were to believe the earth is flat I would be terrified of the idea of flying to end of one side, why? cuz then the earth would end and the space would start and now I would be floating in space xD..... that's what I imagine one of the reasons they would argue to not take a flight to the edge

Yes, they are real, but I sometimes think that they are the psychiatry patients whose doctor freed them. I remember I found one forum where all people were the fans of this theory, and communicating with them is a challenge. Because you read what they write and can't believe all these people are sane.
-
They are however less dangerous than those who believe the world was created by a man with a beard and you should kill anyone who disagrees with you or hasn't learned the Koran by heart..

The ocean isn't carbonated (yet). So the Earth is flat. ;)
