So I was just watching a naked science episode on discovery about pluto and how some scientists believe that it came from the hyperbelt. Now I would just like to clarify, does the hyperbelt surround our solarsystem? Like a ring around saturn? Or is the entire solar system surrounded by it? Like one of those drumbstick icecreams that have nuts in the middle ( the nuts being the planets) I ask this because the show did really clarify.

That one was weird?

Would you like to cite what they mean by it?
=

The only thing I can think of is the Kuiper belt?
Don't know of any 'hyperbelt'?

There is something called the Huygens belt too?
But I can't find any references to it googling.

It might refer to this.

" Most of the moons that are located in the area around the large gas giants were formed in circumplanetary disks. A circumplanetary disk is a,” planet-girding belt of dust and gas that astronomers strongly theorize controls the formation of planets and gives rise to an entire system of moons, like those found around Jupiter.” (https://www.eurekalert.org) Most of the time these circumplanetary disks either create a lot of large moons or no large moons at all. For a planet to have a single large moon and many smaller moons, like Titan, it has to go through a particular process. “Large moons like Titan mostly lose orbital energy in the dusty disc and spiral in towards the planet to be devoured. For particular combinations of moon mass and orbital radius, however, the overall balance of forces causes the moon to instead drift slowly outwards, or even hover at a the same orbital distance; these are like safe patches, and a single giant moon is able to survive destruction.”(https://www.skyatnightmagazine) This is what happened in the case of Saturn's moon, Titan.  "

As mentioned by yor_on, you are thinking of the Kuiper belt, a doughnut-shaped region beyond Nepture, at 30-50 AU from the Sun (AU=Astronomical Unit = distance from Earth to Sun). The best-known object is ex-planet Pluto, but there are a number of other objects of similar or larger size. It extends about 10 degrees above and below the plane of the Solar System.

There is a more distant sphere of objects called the Oort Cloud, which stretches half way to the nearest stars.
- Any further, and you would say it is the Oort Cloud of the other star!
- It is roughly spherical in shape around the Sun
- It is thought that many comets originate in the Oort Cloud, and these come in at extreme angles to the plane of the Solar System.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oort_cloud

ReEdit - Yes I'm Aware it's Festival time & Flooding & the Virus making a comeback...so Please Take Your Time, no hurry.
(I really wasn't aware TNS has a good hold in YouTube as well)
