Post by: talanum1 on 14/02/2022 18:48:09
Look at this:

timestamp: 7.37.

It says that the energy in the Bohr Model of the atom Is negative.

Found on the Internet:
The negative sign in Bohr's equation is there because E=0 when the electron and neutron are separated completely (when the electron is free). So, as they get closer (or get lower in orbitals), they are losing energy and therefore the energy calculated when doing Bohr's equation is negative. https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23293

The Bohr Model is now obsolete.
