Title: Why position "Rubik's cube" yellow edges in the 5th step instead of 7th?

Is there any pure Logician or Mathematician that is able to explain me why sometimes in the Rubik's Cube solving using the Seven Step Method sometimes the yellow edges are solved in the 5th step and in some other ttimes (maybe because of using different sequence algorythms in eachh of those 7 steps) the yellow edges are solved in the last step?
What are the trade offs and advantages of each approach from a Mathematical standpoint? Which one can be thought as the quickest method? And which would would result in a simpler and easier to memorize number of sequence algorythms needed?

On a Rubik's cube, there is nothing "special" about yellow.
- You could edit the 7-step method (or "algorithm") so it solves the yellow side first.
- You could take your written 7-step method, and rewrite it using any colour where it now specifies "yellow".
- When you replace every instance of "yellow" by (say) "blue", you need to change every mention of every other colour so they have the same geometric relationship to blue as the originally-written colour had to yellow.

There are many possible algorithms to solve a Rubik's cube with various tradeoffs of complexity in the algorithm vs number of steps to solve it. Different algorithms will solve for yellow at different stages in the algorithm.

I'm not sure how you describe this guy's algorithm - it must have a high degree of parallelism!
