Hello everybody.
In a SF story of mine that I'm writing, a mysterious chameleon ship is changing color every nanosecond, considering all colors. My question is, what would you see if you had your eyes fixed on its hull for a minute? It seems to me that one nanosecond is so fast that I'm clueless as to answer the perhaps silly question with certainty. Thanks.

White.
-
I'll take Your word for it. Thanks.
-
I'm assuming that the intensity of each color matches the human eye response, of course. If not, the result could be pinkish or bluish, or even that disturbing color of the Australian outback that is both red and blue at the same time, so I can't focus it!
-
I think I'll go for white. Thank You again.
-
I'd say it's grey.
At least some of the time, it absorbs at least some of the light.
-
Forgive me for asking... I'm Not Objecting over your SF.
But Why is the ship acting like a Chameleon?
Why is it not just Simply camouflaging?
Like say the bottom of the ship is oceanic blue or green, depending on the water & the top portion is sky blue or whatever color the horizon is off.
That way it could be hidden from sight atleast.
Yeaa, sonar/radar would catch it.
But what if the ship is designed to look like a great blue whale.
And it even produces sounds similar to a whale humming.
And it swims like a whale too.
And snorkel water out as well.
🐳
Until a target is in sight, then it would gently submerge & open it's jaws wide open & 4 torpedoes would simultaneously thrust out & blow it's Target to Smithereens!
💥⛵💥
P.S. - perhaps some country's navy might have already built a prototype by now.

Which may explain the appearance of almost all naval vessels. They are nanosecond chameleons! (Military chums refer to HM Royal Navy as "The Grey Funnel Line").

At the moment the idea is a draft, but the ship human starship encounters might actually be some unusual phenomenon, perhaps it is pregnant with colors that colored the cosmos on a level no mortal could understand, as differences in wavelengths are being watched by mysterious ship's sensor that can penetrate almost any part of the cosmos searching for a particular thing at a time, something like that. Nebulous, I guess, but I'll work on the passage later on when I get to it. Thanks for Your thoughts.

You're Welcome clueless.

Much appreciated.

That is another project of mine. I had the idea about a year back. I guess we all think alike, more or less. Heh, hope they won't sue me for plagiarism, even though that was never and never will be my intention.

Thinking about Plagiarism, i decided to check it out.
Bad News!

I Really wasn't aware it was a Reality.
But i rather Imagined it differently, without a crew, mimicking whale sounds, & also swimming like a real whale, without propellers.

Thanks for the tip.
"I Really wasn't aware it was a Reality."
Me neither. Live and learn.
