Title: Can anyone identify this rock please?
Post by: Seanhaynes on 07/10/2022 07:00:35
I was looking for specifically black rocks for a project. I came across a large palm sized rock which suited my purpose. When I got it home and opened it up it is gold in colour. I worked a piece on a lap disc, it seems to be a quartz. But I was wondering if someone could properly identify it?

Hi Sean & Welcome to the TNS Forum.

Sunstone?

P.S. - does it have a micro hole at the top, does that hole go all the way thru it, like can it be worn like an amulet/pendant?

Not a calcite, its very hard to work similar to quartz. Attached a pic of the rough stone.

Sorry but I'm Clueless.

But not to lose Hope.

Surely someone in here would be Knowing.

P.S. - Patience is Bitter, but it's Fruit is Sweet.
