Or does it really boil down to dudes and dudettes receiving affirmation about their intelligence and importance?

If you like taking IQ tests and want to meet with likeminded folk, it serves its purpose.

I don't like any form of elitist snobbery. I think mensa is such a case, from my limited experience with some members.
