Title: What/who is god?
Post by: Eddie Mars on 30/05/2024 09:59:31
Hi,

Life itself is god.

I think, therefore I am alive.

The god of a devout believer is a figment of a defective imagination.

The god of a priest is a saleable product with no specification or warranty.

The god of a terrorist or crusader is an excuse for doing evil instead of having a healthy sex life.

Hi,

A language has a word for god. That word is a point of view.

god is (what/who is god)

is the same as (works in the same manner)

Hi,

People are fluent in their own language but most of them are not rational in it.

On the other hand, foreigners are more rational:

It is not just that meaning is re-worded - it is that words get another meaning.

The king has a god (as a boss).
No, he hasn't.

Parasites like kings and priests invent an unaccountable, invisible, excuse for bad behavior and claim it gives them an unjustified authority and/or untestable wisdom that is denied to their chosen hosts/customers/subjects/victims.

The whole point of a sky fairy is that the hoi polloi can't see or comprehend it . Because it doesn't actually exist.

Anybody can see my boss and understand her instructions (though the reason behind them often defies logic - but that's another question). If I disobey, I won't go to Hell after my death - life becomes intolerable immediately!

The joy of a hereditary constitutional monarchy is that nobody really cares about the secret mumbo-jumbo of a coronation. The nominal Head of State is acknowledged and retains that post by common consent, and the faffing about in a cathedral is just a public demonstration of that consent.

Is English just badly pronounced French?
About half of it is, about half is German, and the rest is made up of whatever works - Celtic remnants, Arabic, Hindi, bits of Spanish, and lots of very bad Latin and Greek in scientific English.

God is the Cosmos, which is bounded by an infinitely large, infinitely concrete outer sphere and an infinitely small, infinitely abstract inner sphere.

A space/society is equivalent to (a set of) rules/axioms.

Basic things are axioms stated as: there is A; A is'; ...

The creator/god can be perceived by creatures as the space itself (equivalent to) or not.

This thread is certainly not a new theory, it is mostly reciting religious text, so IMO it belongs in a nonscience sub.

God is the top (innermost) system of the abstraction hierarchy of systems that comprises this universe. i.e. He/she is the most abstract system in this universe, He/she has control over all the systems in this universe but, typically exercises that control via level 1 of the abstraction hierarchy (level 0 being occupied by a single system (God him/herself)). The Universe is continually expanding. God will die when/as the Universe dies (the heat death probably)).

God is only one of the many Gods in the Multiverse and has probably been created when the Universe started - probably via a singularity.

PS as all systems in the universe are inherited via a single base system, i.e... we are all a type of God (or, in other words, God is an ancestor)

So what created the singularity? What being decided that there should be a god?
