Having used "disqus" to comment on various fora for several years I find today that I am unable to log in(on). I get the message "incorrect user name, e-mail or password". Absolutely no changes have been made to the computer and everything was fine yesterday. I have had problems previously whereby several attempts to log in were needed to be effective but this time it is giving me a resolute NO. Any ideas?

Hi,
I can only give the advice you would find by Google-ing the problem:
(i) Clear your browser history and cookies. Be aware that some other websites you use will then lose their personalisation, e.g. saved log-in details etc.
(ii) If that doesn't help, wait a day - because the problem may be entirely at their end, e.g. a crashed server. They will fix it soon.
(iii) If you want to do some more investigation then try a different computer and a different web browser etc.
Best Wishes.

Thanks, ES, I got it sorted by a slight change to the log on protocol. Instead of logging on with my name I logged on with e-mail and this returned normal operation- logging on with my name has always worked previously..

I had a weird login problem with the Anglian Water website that I put up with for ages until I recently discovered what was causing it.
I would type my username and password, and it would accept them, but then just refresh the login page so that I had to type them in again, and then it would log me on. I found it was caused by saving the login page as a browser favourite instead of the Anglian Water homepage.
Yesterday when I tried to use my phone to log on to the CTC forum, it was telling that the password I knew to be correct was wrong all of a sudden, and sent me a password reset email. Instead of resetting it, I tried the laptop, and that worked fine, then when I went back to the phone, so did that as well.
