Is Daveshorts responsible for climate change? We have all seen or heard him, ask us to make volcanoes, fire extinguishes and such like. All of them releasing Co2, i think he is reckless and only doing it so he can wear his shorts all year round [;)].
Aherm, seriously. Say just one of us built a volcano, mixed our vinegar and baking soda, and had a lovely eruption. How much Co2 would we be releasing? What if the whole population of the UK did this at the same time?

You could always carbon trade by holding your breath for a few minutes each day :)
In fact if the whole population of the UK were to hold their breath just for a total of five minutes everyday think what good we could do for the enviroment

If my ex-wife was to never cook again, that would do a lot more good.

Is nuclear power carbon-free?
Not according to Dr Uwe Fritsche, a researcher at the Öko Institut in Darmstadt, Germany, who says there's no such thing as carbon-free power.
A big 1,250 megawatt plant produces the equivalent of 250,000 tons of carbon dioxide a year during its life, he says. Its does better than coal- and gas-fired turbines but in reality, a lot of Co2 is produced in setting up the plant, mining the uranium ore it requires and in operating it.
So it seems that when its life-cycle cost of reducing Co2 emissions is compared with other energy alternatives, nuclear power may not fare as well in the global warming equation. There are suggestions that improving a nation's energy efficiency would produce far less Co2 than a new nuclear plant.

If we are talking personal carbon footprints fron our own domestic use, using figures from my last electricity bill. I only use an average of 2.5 KWH per day, that is a pretty low figure.
