And is as far as I'm concerned unbelievable, totally amazing

How can someone hold their breath for so long i can manage a minute but 15 is like forever. Its tollaly amazing what the human body can achieve.

How the heck can that be real.. What about oxygen deprivation and 4 minute rule as you said Michael.. at what point will an oxygen starved body suffocate and collapse.. and once one looses consciousness won't one just automatically breath like a child who holds their breath until they pass out?

I'm sure the 20 minutes of inhaling pure oxygen immediately before the stunt helped.

In other words he cheated (in a sense) as this cant be compared to a normal person doing the same.

I wonder how long he would last under normal conditions.

His world record for holding his breath without inhaling pure oxygen first is just over 9 minutes , that is still amazing

I still wanna know why his brain isnt starved of oxygen. I thought if your brain dosent receive a fresh supply  every 4 minutes you got brain damage.

Some people are able to slow down their body rhythms, heart beat etc by meditating.

Doing that would allow the oxygen to last longer. A few minutes of deep breathing beforehand would also increase the available oxygen in the blood. Too much too quick and you could get oxygen narcosis which can be painful.  [;)]
