Other than acid mediums, is it insoluble in acetone, kerosene or other solvents?

do NOT mix chlorine and organic solvents!!!

Chlorine can react extremely vigorously with organic compounds, including acetone and kerosene, even reaching the point of "combustion," but instead of creating products like CO H2O and CO2, it makes corrosive, toxic and carcinogenic products such as hydrochloric acid, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, phosgene etc.

If this is news to you, I think 500 mL of chlorine gas is probably not a safe thing for you to be experimenting with!
