What caused the Big Bang to happen?

Perhaps:- The expansion of space was caused by something like a white hole > Gravity an ER or EPR bridge and Dark Energy can lead to an inevitable expansion of the universe from zero energy starting point because that is what was inevitable and must happen.

The big bang is a theory, not an event. And nobody knows what started the expansion of the universe from what may have been the kind of event you had in mind. There is as of yet no theory on it other than the Pre-Big Bang scenario. Google that to learn more on it.
