Title: Where do birds sleep?
Post by: benm on 03/05/2019 16:48:34
Naked Scientists Katie has a question:

Where do birds head to at night for sleeping? I've never seen a bunch of birds snoozing in a tree!
Do city birds make use of urban structures for roosting in?

Can anybody help her out?

Mostly birds sleep in their nests or other secluded places on the ground, tree hollows, and so on. They are careful and therefore not visible where they sleep. For example, chickens sleep on special poles or even branches of trees, peacocks also climb onto branches, etc.
