Dunno about dangerous, but I made myself allergic to the stuff by putting it on broken skin.

Deodorants not so much, but antiperspirants typically contain aluminum, a toxin known to have ties to Alzheimer's disease.

Given that most of the adult population in much of the world does this every day without problems the answer seems to be that it isn't dangerous.

Yes, but not known to be a causative agent.
