Physiology & Medicine / Re: What causes vertigo sensations when looking towards my genital area?
« on: 01/06/2005 19:33:46 »
Over bridges and steep hills I get this sensation of my stomach dropping and then rising again fast.  When I was a child I used to beg my mom to drive fast over hills near our home so they would "get my belly", but it's also a sensation that extends further down to my groin.  It also triggers an intense and sudden thirst.  I've felt this sensation on looking down from great heights, riding or driving over bridges, hills, roller coasters, elevators, and once or twice while swimming.  I'm female.

Thanks for the answer Andrew.  I may try it and if I do I'll let you know.  I clicked around a bit and didn't find the other thread you mention.  Would you mind pointing me to it?

I don't know if this would be a solution for me really.  I've given as many excuses as I've heard cures over the years, but frankly, it boils down to the fact that I don't like to sleep.  There are too many other things I'd rather be doing.  Since I don't sleep all that much I am interested in things that make what sleep I do get better, so I may try this one.

Andrew, that sounds like an interesting solution.  I've heard what seems like a bazillion cures for insomnia over the years and that's the first I've heard this one.  What makes it work?  What's the story behind this?

That certainly lends a lot of credence to the "men are the same as women, only inside out" saying, huh?
