Hello (Or I should say hola? ), where are you from, bombero?, Are you from Spain? I used to participate more frequently in this forum, I have been suffering POIS since I was 18, now I'm 27 and niacin blocks my POIS completely so I'm a new man since 2 years ago... Best regards

Vincent M,  I posted on the russian POIS site  on the same day I posted here, which is  couple of days before New Years,  since it was my New Years  resolution.

Your problem is  that you    dont understand that  over and undermethylation  does not mean  anything for  POIS  sufferer at all...what  matters is dopamine/ serotonin   ratio.   That is why    you are   taking   stuff for low serotonin and low dopamine ,  taking SAMe and  all other   delitant  stuff  where you  have to be  fixing  the actual ratio of dopamine/serotonin.     If you  have  low serotonin and high dopamine  and  you take SAMe, you will get  screwed. LMAO
Most severe POIS suffers are mixed,  with  screwed up  dopamine./ serotonin  level...    You cant know that ratio from blood tests ,since  the levels  are changing really fast.... this is  systemic  knowledge,  that is why you should give me tests and stop being a delitant in  denial, LMAO

If you really have a "pure heart" and want to help some people here, the worst you can do it's to laugh at them and the possible effects they can suffer. If you really suffered a bad POIS, I do not know how you dare to treat so bad some people with the same condition as you. Your "LMAO" bs is not appropiate here, stick it *somewhere else* ::) we are talking about our deepest feelings and our own life; If you really want to help them, you can offer your advice, your counsel, your scientific reasoning about POIS and how you obtained it, BUT NOT your attacks. They don't deserve to stand your mockery.

Hi Vincent Marcus, I agree with what you've said. I sent Gbolduev a PM asking those questions. It's not the first one who comes here and claims he has got the solution to our answers. But I'm very interested on what he has to say.

Happy new year to everyone!

Hi guys, i read that taking niacin can vanish the symptoms of POIS after an ejaculation. I also watched a video in which a guy says that niacin helps him disappear the symptoms..Is this true ? Has anybody tried it ? I need some information please ..

Hi chris18 I think you have watched The Catalyst documentary. You should follow Vincent Marcus advice. I am the guy who appears in the program and I can tell you that today, 1 year and 4 months after I began to experiment with the niacin, it stills gives me excellent results, so you should try it. If you want more suggestions, you can send me a PM, Good luck!

Hi,

As I posted earlier, I found a new doctor who has advice me to stop herbal life products as it is harmful to kidney and liver as it contain more chemicals to reduce the weight.  After stopping herbal life, my POIS is back.  Hence he referred me to a nureologist who know the treatment for my problem.

I consulted the nureologist yesterday and first time in last 7 years I found doctor accepted our problem as physical one and he not referred to psychitists.  He told that our problem is a well defined in our country and he knows the treatment for this and he cured around 100 to 150 patients in our country on this problem.  He told that in our country, for POIS, we call it as Post Coital Illness / Headche syndrome. In our region he told there will be more mental symptoms rather than physical.  POIS and Pcoitial headche / illness is same.  He also told the problem is in Blood vessels and Nerves leading to chemical imbalance at the brain during orgasm.  For this he told it requires 3 to 6 months for complete recovery from this problem.  Presently I am taking medicines as prescribed by him.  Waiting for the result.

Hi Nathan, I am glad to read your experiences; where are you from? I have heard before about post- coital headache, but I do not think it is the same illness as POIS, but probably this doctor knows more than me. I hope you get good results, we will be waiting to read more from you, regards!

You hit the nail on the head Habibou. I encourage everyone of you: The silent readers who are suffering from POIS and are following this forum, to donate https://www.rarediseases.org/about/support/research-donations/fg_base_view_p3 to the Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome fund. It does not matter the amount, probably you have saved some money - and this is the better investment you can do. 5$, 10$, 20$ can make a BIG difference. And 5$ now is 10$, and 40$ is 80$. I am sure that you want to get rid of this misery, so please do not ignore this message and do not waste this opportunity. A moment feeling POIS is a moment when all of your dreams and your life, just make no sense, so please, think again!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Some members have been having very encouraging conversations with a Dr. Juan I.Martínez-Salamanca in Madrid since El Mundo article about POIS. See below:

Juan I.Martínez-Salamanca, MD PhD, FEBU
Attending Urologist
Department of Urology
Urology Oncology & Sexual Medicine

He has been following POIS for some time, and quite closely follows the line that we have been approaching. He has been active, both in his work and studies with POIS patients and has been supportive AND influential in some of our activities.

Presently he wishes to embark upon a preliminary survey of the members that participate in some forums, being this actually the only place where he could reach us.

He has a survey at the following URL.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?fromEmail=true&formkey=dFpnckhXRlpLSFAwWXlfQWNkclgtZWc6MQ

We recommend and encourage as many as possible to do the survey so that we can begin collecting valuable information
with a professional who very much understands our condition. It is similar to questions that have already been asked, but in his hands, they will be of very  much more benefit.

This questionaire would be a prelude to others by him that seek to delve more deeply into remedial effectivity related to POIS type groupings.

Please help us to find a solution to POIS. Your input here will benefit us all. And we could spread the word from here more easily to reach a lot of POIS sufferers around the world who do not even know that they are suffering from.

Thank you.

The problem most definitely starts earlier than "post-orgasm".  In fact, I don't see a way that we ever find the root cause to this problem if we operate under the assumption that it doesn't.  Is anybody here offended by that statement?  BC if not i say we democratically remove it from the list of bannable offenses :)

The fact that some of us get symptoms similar to POIS in some special situations - lot of stress, this could be a good example - could point to that direction. But I am waiting for what pois has to say, because I do not understand him completely.

Kurtosis,

I was impressed by your willingness to look at "touchy" topics on this forum.

When I discovered four years ago that I had POIS, which had decimated my relational life for forty years, I struggled with the solutions and found nothing offered on this site to be successful. When I contacted Waldinger, he assured me that abstinence would stop the problem.

When Dr. Waldinger contacted me, he was shocked to learn that niacin can block completely my POIS. Moreover, he was able to watch me suffering no POIS after an Orgasm. And I learned about niacin from this site, so it is not accurate to say that "nothing from this site is succesful" - Kurtosis method is just another proof. Now I have been in a relationship for +1year, and this is something I believed it was impossible for me...

And it´s true that Waldinger opened a new way, he was the first who coined the name and the first who made a research, but as he said in the last documentary: "We still do not know a lot of things about POIS". The most repeated sentence when I was with he/his teammate was "More research is neccesary". Are we going to get stuck with this indefinitely? We are advancing more and more. Your experience - 40 years with POIS- should have been really awful. For me it was 7 years without relief and it was more than enough - I have been nearly POIS free for more than a year and the difference, trust me, has been amazing - I do not want anyone to experience this hell, so we should fight until we discover the truth. Full abstinence, castration, etc - should not be the "solution". I can understand those who have decided to follow this path... and I think a good research can stop this.

Quote from: pois on 02/09/2012 12:04:03

At that point I had a decision to make, to keep fighting to find a way to be actively sexual or to find a way to accept the only known solution and find ways to live happily without sex, and in ten days it will be three years since I've been sexual with myself or others. I have not had one trace of the symptoms that plagued me since I was thirteen.

People say to abstinence " Well we still have nocturnal emissions", but is that really the activity that is causing the lion's share of the symptoms? No, it is not.

And the problem starts much earlier than "post" orgasmic. Once again, the second time I contacted Waldinger he assured me that that was true, too. Discussion of this topic was warned not to be talked about, under the threat of banning from this site several years ago, so be careful, this is 'touchy' too.

I do not understand what do you mean saying this. Could you explain yourself better?

All the best,

I am really impressed with the medical pioneering many here are doing. But at the same time, dr. Waldinger had a research paper that showed over 80% were positive at an intradermal allergy test. So in my humble opinion, over 80% should pursue desensitization. If slit doesn't work, try scit. Of course you could be the 20%. But be aware that there is also "evidence" that says testosterone and vitamines like b3 suppress allergy symptoms. And supplements can have side-effects, who wants so be on medication or supplements for life?

Dr.Waldinger´s research paper falls short. Some doctors say that if someone gets an injection with ketchup, he will show a positive reaction, the same will occur with semen, so we have here some questions to be answered. I believe that POIS is at least partly inmunological  because these treatments work, but we only can wonder about it until we get a serious research done...

Please permit me to say that there is nothing wrong with having a psychological problem.  Please do not misinterpret this statement to mean that I believe the problem to be psychological.  With all due respect, is the problem more prevalent among people who have a scientific background?  This does not seem logical to me but, since the only people that I know that have it, are people with scientific backgrounds, it poses the question.  No offence meant to anyone.  Thanks for comments.  Joe L. Ogan

Who do you know suffering from POIS ? I do not think that we could jump into this conclusion. I bet that thousands of men are suffering from POIS all over the world and they do not know what is happening to them. It could happen to anyone. I have a scientific background, but when I got POIS I had not, so why are you asking the question?
If I have an Orgasm I would suffer from severe cognitive impairment, lethargy, depression, brain fog, bad stomach, red eyes..., but if I take the niacin pre-O I will block the symptoms. If you met any of us, you will notice the difference very clearly.

Hi guys!

I just want to say that we are going to push for a reddit-like campaign on Indiegogo, to ask for more funds for our research.

I am tired of reading quotes from isolation, despair, misunderstanding, the double or triple (or more) effort we have to make to only try to show off that we have a normal life... that this terror syndrome is bringing to us. I do not want anyone to suffer from this anymore, so  I am not going to stop until we have a very good research done and not someone that falls short, so i am asking you for a very last effort to join us in this enterprise at Indiegogo.

Hi tantalus,

"Pois and isolation even in the own group".

Just curious: Who promised you (and the other guys) in 2004 to be united?

Thanks in advance!
sorry, but I dont want to tell this. I just wanted to explain my urge to meet my palls, and my dissapointment. But i learned something by your question, could better not have mentioned it. was not really functional. thanks for the lesson.

On the other hand... I can in a way understand the own legitimate reasons to not bring us together. But extreme sad i was and be until now. Yes. If the person who recognises himself in this reads this to, its i hope enough stimulus to promise this never again.

not any more questions?....I am disappointed;>) Or did I do the rest of my letter so well?

Hello tantalus, my POIS symptoms used to last between 4-5-6 days. I got pretty bad cognitive problems_ Brain fog, lethargy, difficulty concentrating, simple speech and so on... Have you tried niacin? A good use of niacin could block completely my POIS symptoms, and i have been able to overcome this nightmare -> In the sense that is not a -big- problem in my daily life, tough i am going to experience the same POIS symptoms that in the past if i do not take the niacin prior to O.

BTW I am 20 years or more younger than you :P.

Welcome to the forum, i hope you learn more about our initiatives and join us!

Hi everyone!!

I read some days ago a very sad story about an old woman - bus monitor - who was bullied by some "stupid"(i am restraining myself) kids on the bus in New York. They made the woman cry, and the despicable event was recorded. The event went viral and the media is airing this episode all over the world: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/06/21/us/new-york-bullied-bus-monitor/index.html

Their relatives have made a crowd-sourcing event (like the one we did on reddit) to appeal to the society to raise 5.000$, so she could be able to pay for a good holiday/travel, "The holiday of her life", because she deserved it. Guess what, she has got nearly 500.000$ from anonymous donations in two days!!!.

The crowd-sourcing event was posted in the page Indiegogo, which it is specialized in crowd-sourcing events ("The world funding platform") to fund every type of cause. They have several sections and one is dedicated to health issues.

Here is the link:
http://www.indiegogo.com/
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects?filter_category=Health -> You could see here some examples.
http://www.indiegogo.com/happiness/campaigner -> Very useful tips on how to make a succesful campaign! I suggest you to read these!!
http://www.indiegogo.com/loveforkarenhklein?c=home&a=748386 -> The campaign of this noble woman.

Maybe we could start a campaign for our NORD cause. Though it is impossible to replicate the success of this woman, every little contribution would add up and we could be near of our objective. What do you think?
I encourage you to do some brain-storm here, to try to present our cause in a simple, and at the same time, profound way that would need to appeal directly to the people´s compassion- without forgetting to back it with scientific sources and the material we have collected till now.

So if you want to collaborate, post your thoughts and ideas here or send me a PM. We would need a team like in our reddit experience to comment in this site. We could talk over it.

Cheers!

I think difficulties faced after an Orgasm or a NE are just a signal and the real culprit is something else...maybe some deficiency or maybe obesity or stress etc...

Hi Omen, this has been reported before. I got mild cognitive problems(they did not affected my mood, but i noticed a minor brain fog) that lasted a few hours -nothing really important- after making an oral presentation in class just few months ago - I made a good, clear presentation but due to the tension my face turned red (I was not the only one who got a red face during the presentation, the heating could have been other factor), and i got very mild cognitive symptoms moments after my presentation ended  . That made me wonder how this event could be related to our POIS...

I saw a brilliant Neurologist today - very sharp and knowledgeable.  Unfortunately, he thinks my problems (biting my fingernails, digestive issues, anxiety, brain fog) are likely stress related, and my social anxiety is nothing more than that.

Hi B_Daniel. We have weapons to combat these claims. You could show the videos of The Learning Channel and the ABC Australia to your doctor. If he is so confident about this being an anxiety problem, let him explain to you why an injection of your own semen could produce a skin reaction and produce POIS symptoms.  You could show him the different papers that have been published until now. Don´t let him to push you on this issue; you could retaliate with all the information we actually have(And we would have more in the coming months).

EDIT: The best thing you could do is to send the doctor the same blog link- all valuable information is at this site- that Daveman was talking about. http://poisenglish.blogspot.com.es/
