Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Pants
« on: 13/06/2006 17:38:34 »
I was wondering if you physicists might be able to tell me why my pants and underwear always ride "up" despite the obvious gravitational implications.  They should go down but they always go up and give me narly itches and discomfort.  Explain .......

That CAN'T be true! / Im freezing my bees off!!
« on: 09/02/2006 20:56:53 »
If you catch a bee and put it in the freezer it will freeze and you can tie a piece  cotton around one of its legs and it will unfreeze and you can have your own pet bee on a string.  Why doesnt the bee die when you freeze it, i dont understand!!

PS if your going to try this then heres some tips:
1. use a tupperware container with a tiny bit of sugar water in it for the intial catch
2.wear gloves
3. the bee/wasp will eventually attempt to fly away so hard it will pull off its own leg leaving it free to sting you

General Science / Un-natural Selection
« on: 30/01/2006 23:23:08 »
This is an appeal to everyone out there who has ever thought there are too many ugly people out there.  If beautiful people all around the world only have sex with other beautiful people then the ugly people will get no sex at all therefore will have no chance to procreate. If only beautiful people can reproduce then the ugly people will slowly die out leaving a planet of only beautiful people for the coming generations.  For the sake of your childrens children, please use protection next time you get too desperate and sleep with someone ugly.  What are your thoughts on this matter? My plan is open to suggestions/improvements.

I accept no responsibility for any controversy this statement may cause

Physiology & Medicine / Can myopia be cured by reading through strong lenses?
« on: 25/01/2006 23:28:36 »
This ones for all the opthalmologists out there,  I have heard a lot of fuss about David de Angelis supposed cure for myopia. I his book he proposes if a myopic person reads while wearing strong plus lenses it will force the eye to shorten itself using the ocular rotary muscles therefore putting an end to short sightedness.  What can anyone tell me about his theory, does it work?

And one more question on the side, does an emotropic eye equal 60 or 65 dioptres? It seems no one can decide.

That CAN'T be true! / Sweating
« on: 24/01/2006 19:32:51 »
Rumour has it / Word on the street is that removing all the hair from your armpits (or anywhere hairy) by waxing them will stop or greatly ruduce sweating in the specified area. If I were to wax my armpits would I sweat less or just get bullied for being a wussy?

Chemistry / Ology
« on: 23/01/2006 22:47:56 »
My physics lecturer once told me anything ending in -ology is not a real science so does that mean biology is all fake, should chemists destroy it and take over the world?
