Does anyone know what this turquoise egg-like thing is that was in a cooked chicken when sliced open? There were three that could be seen and coloured staining on the flesh around them. That's a regular sized steak knife in the photo. The fellow in the meat department didn't seem keen to find out what it is, and squished the "egg" with his finger.
My neighbour fell and drove a stick into the fleshy part of her hand between the thumb and index finger about 10 days ago. She was on antibiotics for four days, but her hand is still swollen, red, and weeping a lot of pus. She said bits of bark come out now and again. It looks very bad to me; the hole looks about the size of a pen. Is there something she can do to alleviate that, or should she be seeking medical attention again? Our hospital is small and our doctors seem overworked into the burnout zone.
I have a lengthy document on my iMac in .rtf format. I would like to be able to work on it on my Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet (which I am not yet familiar with) but it does not support .rtf format. Any suggestions?
If a person has shingles and the rash is present, is it just the blisters that are contagious, or can the virus also be passed by other methods (like sneezing)? Is there any danger to pregnant women if they come into contact with someone (not the blisters, just the person) that has shingles?
After getting several blackfly bites on my face and arms that turned into huge lumps with scabs, my son told me that numerous flies vomit into their bites. Is this true, and are blackflies (and sandflies) some of those little pukes?
PS - I'm looking lovely these days. If it was close to Halloween the bite lumps might be useful.
My friend had a rather large piece of flesh removed from her calf 5 years ago because of cancer cells. She's just had a mole biopsy show cancerous cells are present. Are these isolated issues, or is this a progression?
Her name is Therese, and any positive, healing thoughts you send her way are most welcome.
Solar panels convert light (but not heat?) into DC electricity and an inverter converts it to AC. Does the battery pack store it as DC or AC, and how do ohms, amps and watts fit into the picture? I don't even understand ohms, amps and watts. Are they considered attributes of electrical current?
Please make explanation simple, since I am a simpleton when it comes to electricity.
Thanks Chris for your answer to my electrolyte question and for welcoming me back. Had a reply ready to post back then and lost my power supply. I love the "My Posts" button [which is at the top of the screen and generates a list of all of the posts to which you have contributed recently - ed].
I lost my Dad a little over 2 years ago, and it devastated me. I'm coming around though, and hope to spend more time in the forum again.
Does anyone know what kind of spider is two-tone brown with striped legs and a body that looks like it has boobs on the back end? The body is about 1/2 inch, with legs about the same length. It lives in southern Alberta, Canada. When I get my camera fixed I can post a picture.
[Donnah - welcome back, good to have your input! - BUT CAN YOU PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE TITLES OF THE THREADS YOU POST ARE PHRASED AS QUESTIONS? - THIS IS FORUM POLICY THESE DAYS. THANKS - CHRIS]
