But stars are dying all the time as well including this week too. Or so I have
recently heard. So when our sun burns itself out then the earth and the rest of this galaxy will die.

Physiology & Medicine / Cat allergy help required!
« on: 19/12/2007 12:28:27 »
Another someone, sorry that I can't help much except that the fact of being a cat owner
and having some of my family, who happen to be allergic to cats also take antihistimanes
like Hay Fever sufferers do in the summer time. If you happen to have that condition too
then have a look into it also here are a few related links.

General Science / What is the difference between Shampoo and Body Wash?
« on: 16/12/2007 13:15:54 »
It does depend on which shampoo you regularly use also if you happen to use
conditioner or not.

General Science / Why do we yawn?
« on: 15/12/2007 15:00:00 »
Then why do I yawn first thing in the morning, if I am supposed to be tired.
I rarely yawn at nighttime though also I once heard on Radio 4 that it is a
way of expelling bad air from your lungs. I am not sure if this is true.

General Science / Apparently our sneeze may have a speed of 100mph?
« on: 14/12/2007 14:33:49 »
I have heard that when you sneeze, the reason for closing your eyes
is to do with the muscles around your sinuses and eyelids. I have tried
to sneeze with my eyes open. To no success of course.

I get these and mainly from car insurance companies, which I find funny
as a non-driver. Also i don't own a car.

I delete them as quickly as possible

Physiology & Medicine / are some people more prone to get the flu or a cold?
« on: 11/12/2007 23:39:40 »
BEfore I had my first ever flu jab I used Vitamin C as a barrier for colds. The jaba has made
flu and colds worse rather easier for me to get rid of. Odd since it's meant to help

Famous Scientists, Doctors and Inventors / The scientist whom history forgot
« on: 11/12/2007 15:52:45 »
I will always think that Rosalind Franklin, who is sometimes called the Dark Lady of DNA
because she had actually discovered through her crystallography diffraction research work, the Single DNA Helix Structure for which her now infamous Slide 51 photo of the helix.

Although Crick was given her Slide 51 but Maurice Wilkins and this identified
for Crick and Watson the Double Helix of DNA structure, but she had actually
seen the Double Helix.

It's sad that Rosalind Franklin died of ovarian cancer at the young age of
37 in 1958.

I have always known about Stalactites and Stalactmites, but I am not sure which ones
hang from the roof of a cave and grow from the floor.

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Gonna take you to the Cat Bar Cat Bar Cat Bar !! (A question about Cat's & Milk)
« on: 08/12/2007 18:53:42 »
I have had cats for over 20 years and have never given them milk as my vet
has always told me that milk will damage their digestive systems as others have said that cats are lactose intolerant.

My present 2 cats only get tap water to drink along with food, of course  [:)]

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / If I cut these flowers will they still be alive ?
« on: 08/12/2007 11:27:24 »
When you have cut flowers and even if you quickly put them into water, They will die soon
afterwards as they've been taken away from the flowers food source in the earth and the stems. The leaves will begin to turn yellow then brown as they also have lost their
food sources too. Also from the natural sunlight too.

But just a tip from something that I do, when I have cut flowers then a way to make them
live longer, I add half a teaspoon of sugar into the water.

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / how the heck can i open my jar of jam?
« on: 07/12/2007 22:26:19 »
just put the jam jar in some tepid water for 5 minuntes and then turn the
lid with rubber gloves on. They will give you a better grip and then you'll
have one open jar.
