Hello All, It's been a while since I've been here. In the past I've had some moderate success with going to a mostly vegan diet etc. Buy recently I had a sleep study done and found I had sleep apnea. Last week I started wearing a TAP, an oral appliance that prevents your tongue from closing off air to your lungs. Guess what? My symptoms of POIS are gone, no exaggerating. (I've been testing, haha. I had sex Friday and Saturday nite and this Sunday morning jogged/hiked 10 miles.) In the past I'd be flat on my back craving carbs, feeling depressed and sick. This may not be everybody's solution but I urge anyone who hasnt had a sleep study to DO IT! I tried the CPAP but that was so intrusive I laughed it off. The TAP is aggreeable with me. I think I've come to a definitive answer for myself concerning this problem. I've tried different things listed in this thread and with varying degrees of success. But recently I suspected a yeast infection, thru-out my body, as the culprit. I visited an experienced naturopath and she confirmed that I did in fact have a serious yeast infection. I have followed the guidelines on how to eliminate yeast infection from running amok and feel much better. Post orgasm "symptoms" are very low/non existent. If you are interested in this line of thinking just google candida or yeast infection. The strategies for eliminating yeast from your body are available online. Good luck. I know this is a serious problem, don't give up.
Hi all, I have had very good success with taking more zinc and eliminating soy from my diet. My fatigue is almost non existent. Have had a couple orgams with same improved results. Just passing it along. You may also want to review how much copper is in your body. From what I've read this could also contribute to the symptoms described here and experienced by me in the past. Hi Everyone, I have good news. I have been masturbating for at least 20 mins everyday without ejaculating and my symptoms have almost disappeared. Now I"m just naturally tired like anyone after orgasming. I am also using Remeron (7.5 mgs) for sleep and tapering down to less than 5 mgs of paxil. Very good decision. Sleep much improved. Thank god. I can't believe I found this thread. For the last few years I've had the EXACT same symptoms described here.
After orgasm; fatigue especially in legs, flushing, depression, fuzzy thinking, tired to point of feeling fluish, insomnia, sore throat, emotionally sensitive... that improves after a day or two. Protein bars seem to help but it may just be the sugar content? I also drink lots of organic milk and I thought I read in a post that someone improved after cutting out milk.
I few years ago I took amino acids for thyroid support, way too much, and that is when my POIS started. I probably burned out my thyroid by accident. I also masturbated lots when younger. Hmmm. My symptoms are much worse when I masturbate as opposed to wet dreams...could be emotional response then to being alone??
