The natural nature of light is not to travel through man made slits, any effect or result of a man made slit would be observer effect and the act of trying to measure by device creating the effect and displaying a result that is not the natural nature of light .That is a good point. We measure things in the lab such as breaking apart a proton and then wonder if the proton normally contains quarks or are quarks merely the byproduct of the process. the double slit experiment sees a photon as a single entity that fails to maintain this identity. It is possible that the experiment messed things up but multiple different experiments have shown light to sometimes be photons and sometimes to be waves. And using these properties interesting things have been built. The double slit involves quantum mechanical principles and after thinking about it for many years it appears true to me. Thus for me the probability of it being true is high and being false is low.
