is it possible to propel a spacecraft by setting off a nuclear explosion in space?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_%28nuclear_propulsion%29
The extent to which it slows down is wavelength dependent, which is how prisms work to make pretty colours. (The pretty colours on CDs are due to difraction).
Well I was wondering, because in my daily life I have noticed that water from the shower, always makes my eye lashes feel heavier and as if they are poking me and getting tangled or something. Now Today I found my self melancholy and the tears were obviously doing whatever job they are supposed to be doing, but I did notice that my eyes were just as wet from the tears, as I was in the shower at the time, but as soon as the tears rolled my eyes immediately felt less agitated then with the water. the lashes seemed to relax and not be such a problem??? I do not understand why. Can someone explain this or am I imagining it?
A similarity between the precession period of Saturn's spin axis and the 1.87×106 yr precession period of Neptune's slightly inclined orbit plane implicates a resonant interaction between these planets as responsible for tilting Saturn from an initially more upright state.http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2004AJ....128.2501W
Hi there, The patient is only 18yrs with long standing diabetes, she is hyperglycaemic so her levels of glucose are high - I've found that 'normal' glucose for diabetic is 4-6 mmol/L therefore her levels are extremly high - poss diabetic ketoacidosis.
what I was wondering was if there was any applicability of using rainbows as holograms.
The big problems are focussing, holding the telescope steady and tracking the earth's rotation for a long exposure picture
Anyway- as Quentin Crisp once said - "After two years, the dust doesn't get any worse."
He (Quentin Crisp) moved to New York in the early 1980's and lived, as ever, alone in a one room apartment which he famously never cleaned.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/211644.stm
"After four years," he quipped, "you don't notice the dust."
Do amputees suffer from high blood pressure!

Rapid and serious deterioration of paper is caused by the oxidation of cellulose brought about by the ultraviolet rays in sunlight and fluorescent light. There are two effects of light on paper that result in its ultimate embrittlement and deterioration. First, it has a bleaching action that causes some whitening of paper and fading of colored papers and certain inks. Second, it causes any lignin, which may be present in the paper, to react with other compounds and turns it yellow or brownish. It is this reaction that results in newspapers' turning yellow on exposure to light.http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byauth/maravilla/deterioration-causes.html
