i too was a vegie for 9 years (almost vegan) and then pregnant in prague and no fresh food around. all i wanted was chicken, pepperami and corn on the cob. when the pregnancy ended i still ate these things, still do now and include a little bacon and fish but the intense cravings have stopped. however. i still cant eat red meat. i love the smell of it, miss the taste of it (especially the way that my mother cooked it) but whenever i try it it tastes off, off in the same way that you can tell a tomatoe or capsicum is off if you are unfortunate enough to eat it.

mmmmmmmm... i wonder if it is something to do with colour?

jai,
I have the same problem sometimes with red meat, though I still eat it too regularly.  I've found that "organic" meat that is produced without hormones and additives is better, and that meat from "free range" animals is even better still.  Being from the midwest US, I've seen too much of the beef and pork production techniques, and know that the meat tastes like the feedlot where they fatten the animals.

This thread is quite a stark example that Darwin's Theory of Evolution is a logically acceptable thesis. 👍

No matter how Social from the outside, but deep down inside Man is still an Animal.
Slaughtering & eating Chicken is supposedly fashionable, but kill & eat someone of your own Species and you would be termed Barbaric n hanged till Death. 👌

We are the Only Species on this planet that forcefully  Govern & Control the growth rate n population of Every Other Species on this planet...Except Our Own.
