How can I use Shape Memory Wire under high operating temperatures?
« on: 04/11/2007 16:46:23 »
Hi,
I am looking for the ways and methods to control the Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) wire during hot operating conditions. The typical transition temperature for this wire is 40 degrees centigrade to 130 degrees centigrade. During hot operation the wire does not recover completely as the surrounding temperature is 80 degrees centigrade.

Contradiction: Wire has to be shielded from hot temperature but at the same time the wire has to be allowed to cool to reach its Martensite phase.

Could anyone think of some method to cross this contradiction.
 Thanks in advance.

 Regards
 Surfer
