you said "no self-respecting beaver would want to look like a fat 60 yr old gay!"

But opus, the beaver has contradicted himself and caught himself in a trap of his own making - Self respect is a human emotion - what would he care if he were fat or gay if he meant what he said in the words I quote "Shame is a human emotion that has no place among Castor kind". If there is no shame in killing the Easter bunny ergo there is no shame in being gay, bald or old.

Very sticky wicket there.

Jim, I regret that, once again, you have overestimated your own ability to argue linguistics and logic with the beaver.

Who said that self-respect is exclusive to humans? Shame is, but has nothing to do with self-respect. My self-respect dictates that I dress well when in public. It has nothing to do with feeling shame were I not, merely discomfort at my drab or scruffy appearance.

It is the question of Human Emotion, not a particular human emotion such as shame. If there is no emotion of shame, there can be no emotion of love, etc.

This is only logical as rodents are a lower form of life than the Genus Homo.

You see, he is treating me like a young beaver "pup," not as a human being - when threatened, the raw beaver comes forth.

I rest my case.

Jim is never awake at dawn. As far as he is concerned, crepuscular activity is something that happens to other animals.

Oh my, doesn't even know how to use the English language.

cre-pus-cu-lar (kri pus'kyuh luhr)  adj.
                  1.  of, pertaining to, or resembling
                       twilight; dim.
                  2.  active in the twilight, as certain insects.
             [1660-70]

Dawn is NOT twilight.

HA... you fell into my trap!

Crepuscular doesn't specifically refer to dusk. It is half-light... ergo dusk or dawn.

from http://misanthropicscott.wordpress.com/2007/12/01/becoming-crepuscular-for-better-wildlife-viewing/

Crepuscular is an adjective used to describe wildlife that is primarily active at dawn and dusk. Since a large amount of truly diurnal wildlife has already been killed or has been scared into becoming crepuscular, dawn and dusk are good times to view a large percentage of the wildlife you have a chance of seeing.

from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/crepuscular

cre·pus·cu·lar  (kr-psky-lr)
adj.
1. Of or like twilight; dim: "the period's crepuscular charm and a waning of the intense francophilia that used to shape the art market" Wall Street Journal.
2. Zoology Becoming active at twilight or before sunrise, as do bats and certain insects and birds.

Note - "of or LIKE twilight".

You even put it yourself in your definition...

                       twilight; dim.

Dawn is NOT twilight.

"                  1.  of, pertaining to, or resembling

of, pertaining to, OR RESEMBLING twighlight

Now Eth, calm down. This isn't good for your heart and your dementia is showing. Did you take your "happy pills" today? Is nursey not taking proper care of you? Or were you bitten by a rabid beaver radding your pond?

Raiding you pond - bad, bad spell-checker.

I am so sorry about the snippers, but at your age you need to conserve your strength.

That is the advice I keep getting. I'll be out until late this evening but I ring nursey to see how you are.

I am sorry you couldn't find a good Russian fighting gerbil. (The best fighting gerbils are originally from the Russian steeps you know.) African and Indian ones are just too timid.

Steeps?

The Russian for gerbil is песчанка (pronounced PESSCHANKA)

You want some grass tea??
I thought you had an non-Russian gerbil. Or did you have an affair with a beaver from the Urals?
