Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, Dutch born guitarist - son of sax & clarinet player Jan van Halen. Had the embarrassment of having 1 of his songs featured in "Herbie Fully Loaded" (2005).

Musical trivia for anyone who is interested.

"Jump" was written in the key of C, but live they used to play it in C#. That was mainly for the benefit of David Lee Roth (this is not uncommon with live performances).

EVH probably used a guitar tuned half a step higher (F rather than E) for live performances of this song so that he could play the solo in Am not A#m. Soloing in Am makes the arpeggios a lot easier than A#m.

I think the church bells are only able to play in C, I'll see if my mum could play this on Sunday. It would be better than her arrangementof Stairway To Heaven which didn't go down to well with the elders.

Yes, they are mean, vicious, underhanded creatures that are VERY aggressive, sometimes without reason. But that is why they are called "wild life."

Of course, the same can be said about some humans I have known, especially some women I have "know." (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

A contraire, mon ami!

But why would someone who is not threatened in their masculinity bring up a question such as this? The "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" was a male camaraderie "bonding thingy." Check out your wardrobe. If there is a tutu in the closet ala Wm. Flinders Petrie, then you must question yourself.
